Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini believes that the style of play looks more free at the Nerazzurri under Simone Inzaghi than it had done under Antonio Conte.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Mandorlini gave his thoughts on how the change in coach has affected the style at his former club.

Inzaghi had a significant task facing him when he took over from Conte, with the former Juventus, Italy, and Chelsea boss having guided the Nerazzurri to their first Scudetto in eleven years.

However, the former Lazio coach has started to impose his own ideas and find success with this team, even though the way in which they play is quite different than that which they exhibited under the departed coach.

Mandorlini has noticed this as well, emphasizing the sense of freedom to how the team plays in and out of possession as a particularly notable feature.

He stated that “The current team has its own ideas. It is more laid back and less tied to strict positional schemes. The players are calmer and more free to play their own game.”
