Inter striker Lautaro Martinez believes that Roma will be a formidable opponent tomorrow, but he is determined to help the team take three points from the Stadio Olimpico.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of the Serie A clash, the Argentine emphasized the quality in the Giallorossi team and the difficulty of facing them away from home.

Inter face their toughest test in Serie A for the rest of the calendar year on paper when they come up against the Giallorossi, with Jose Mourinho’s team sitting fifth in the table at the moment.

Roma suffered a disappointing loss to Bologna on Wednesday and are without some key players from their squad, but they will nevertheless be a tough matchup for the Nerazzurri.

Martinez is happy with his situation at Inter, stating that “All the people here have done so much to make me feel welcome, and I always thank them because I feel that I am treated as an important player.”

“I try to do my best on the pitch to reward this trust,” he went on, “and I’m always trying to bring Inter to the top, that’s the most important thing for me.”

And of tomorrow’s clash with the Giallorossi, the Argentine was clear that he does not expect it to be an easy match by any means.

“It will be an important match,” he stated. “They are strong at home, we know how they play, they have an excellent coach and they have big-name players with real quality.”

“We have to bring home the three points that will help us keep moving up the table,” he emphasized.
