Inter are set to go head to head with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho for the first time since he guided them to the European treble when they face Roma tomorrow.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that much as changed at Inter since Mourinho departed.

Mourinho was in charge for just two seasons at Inter, but his influence and legacy were significant, guiding the club to the Scudetto in his first season in charge before taking them to their only European treble in his second.

From that team, former captain Javier Zanetti remains as the club Vice President, while Piero Ausilio remains as sporting director, but otherwise it’s an entirely different team.

Mourinho will not return to the San Siro to face the Nerazzurri as an opponent until April 24 of next year, but his clash with his former side will be a significant enough moment.

Rumours suggested that the Portuguese coach had been hoping for the Nerazzurri job before Antonio Conte was ultimately settled on in the summer of 2019, but now he is in charge at the Giallorossi, and will be on the other side against the Nerazzurri for the first time.
