Former Napoli, Real Madrid, and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain believes that Inter-linked River Plate striker Julian Alvarez is a top talent.

Speaking to ESPN, as reported by FCInterNews, the Argentine spoke highly of his countryman’s talents, and also suggested that the Inter target has a similar style of play to himself when he was younger.

Alvarez has emerged as a major target for a number of top European clubs, with the Nerazzurri set to go head to head for his signature with AC Milan, Juventus, and a number of major clubs in Spain as well.

The 21-year-old’s goalscoring return of nearly a goal per game for River this season has marked him out as a major talent.

Higuain believes that the positive impressions of Alvarez have a sound basis, and the prolific striker’s assertion that the player reminds him of his own style could bode well for the River striker’s future in Serie A.

“He’s the best Number Nine and I’d like to see him in Europe,” the former Partenopei and Bianconeri striker stated.

“In terms of his movement, his two-footedness, his desire to grow and win, he reminds me of myself,” he added. “He is given the freedom to be very versatile in attack, and he can be unstoppable.”
