Inter sent a scout to the Stadio Alberto Picco to watch midfield targets Giulio Maggiore and Davide Frattesi during the 2-2 draw between Spezia and Sassuolo earlier today.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the two young Italian midfielders are transfer targets for the Nerazzurri in the summer and that they scouted the pair’s performances during the Serie A clash.

Inter are likely to have a vacancy in midfield next summer, with Arturo Vidal’s contract set to expire at the end of June 2022 and no indication that his deal will be renewed.

The club are aiming to bring in younger players and have a focus on players in Serie A, and both Maggiore and Frattesi are among the players who they are considering to shore the team up in central areas.

Neither of the two young men stood out for their displays during the match, in which the Neroverdi came back from 2-0 down to snatch a point, but both remain serious targets.
