Inter will have Stefan de Vrij back for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, with the Dutchman set to play from the start on the return.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Lautaro Martinez will also make his starting return against the Merengues with Joaquin Correa out injured.

De Vrij has been on the sidelines since the international break, having picked up an injury during the Dutch national side’s World Cup qualifier against Motnenegro.

However, he is now fully fit and ready to make his return to the starting eleven, and is set to be selected with Andrea Ranocchia still out injured.

Meanwhile, Correa’s thigh problem picked up in yesterday’s Serie A win over Roma is likely to rule him out for the rest of the year, and he is certain to miss the clash at the Bernabeu.

In his place, Martinez is set to make his return to the team alongside Edin Dzeko in attack after having missed the win over Roma with some muscular fatigue.
