Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo believes that the job done by coach Simone Inzaghi at the Nerazzurri has been highly impressive.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Anch’io Lo Sport, the former keeper stated that he was not expecting the former Lazio boss to succeed as much as he has so far and hailed his impact at the club.

Inzaghi had already gained a strong reputation in Italian football for his work across five seasons with the Biancocelesti.

However, making the switch to Inter was always going to produce different expectations for the 45-year-old, and it remained to be seen whether his ideas would be the right fit to replace Antonio Conte’s Scudetto-winning presence.

So far, however, the coach and team have both looked quite comfortable, growing in form throughout the season and now looking to be in a particularly good period and ready to fight for titles in Italy and in Europe.

“I’m happy for Inter who have reshuffled their ideas,” Toldo stated. “I didn’t think that Inzaghi would do this well.”

He went on that “We must give him credit because he has done a great job both in defense, with the team conceding few goals, and in attack.”
