Inter have not only managed to avoid a dropoff in quality following the departure of Antonio Conte in the summer, but they have arguably become even stronger.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who hail the current edition of the team under Simone Inzaghi as an improvement over that which won the Scudetto under Conte.

The Nerazzurri parted ways with Conte early in the summer, with the former Juventus, Italy, and Chelsea boss feeling that he was not able to continue the project that had led to the Scudetto under the financial conditions imposed by the club.

In his place came Inzaghi, a young coach who had already established a strong reputation for himself within Serie A across more than five seasons with Lazio.

The 45-year-old’s work with the team has already started to show through, as the Nerazzurri’s form has looked especially imperious in the past few weeks.

Already the team has hauled itself back into the Scudetto race after falling behind early, and accomplished something that Conte was not able to during his two seasons in charge by qualifying for the Champions League round of sixteen.

Even with the losses of summer sales Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku and the stricken Christian Eriksen, the team have hardly missed a beat.

In their place arrived Denzel Dumfries, Edin Dzeko, and Hakan Calhanoglu, and the summer signings look to be fitting in and finding form along with the rest of the team.

It remains to be seen if Inzaghi can win the Scudetto as his predecessor did or if the impressive early form of his first few months will prove unsustainable, but thus far he has ensured that Conte is hardly missed on the bench.
