Inter forward Joaquin Correa has suffered an injury to the flexor muscles in his left thigh, the club has confirmed.

This has been announced on the Nerazzurri’s official site, who report that the injury has been confirmed by tests and that further examinations will reveal more about the 27-year-old’s condition next week.

Correa had to leave the pitch during the second half of Inter’s win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday after the forward went down holding his thigh.

Initial tests suggested that the issue had been with the player’s thigh, and today the Argentine underwent an MRI with the Nerazzurri medical staff which confirmed the nature of the issue.

It remains to be seen how serious the injury is and what the timeline for recovery will be, but it now appears that Correa will miss the next few matches at least as he recovers from the issue.
