Inter forward Joaquin Correa will not be able to make his return until the new year due to a thigh injury that he is recovering from.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is aiming to have the 27-year-old back early in 2022.

Correa picked up a thigh injury during the second half of the Nerazzurri’s win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, which subsequent tests confirmed was a strain to the flexor muscles to his left thight.

The Argentine is now sent to miss the next four weeks approximately as he recovers from the problem, which should rule him out of the Nerazzurri’s three remaining matches in Serie A before Christmas.

The hope is that Correa will be able to make his return to the pitch very soon in 2022, however, with Inzaghi hoping that he will have the forward back available for the Nerazzurri’s first match back from the winter break, against Bologna.
