Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez could be ruled out of his side’s Serie A clash with Inter on Sunday through a thigh injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda, who report that the 25-year-old is being assessed for an issue with his right thigh flexors ahead of the match.

Nandez picked up the issue during the Rossoblu’s draw with Torino on Monday, and initial tests determined that the midfielder had picked up a knock in his right thigh.

The Uruguayan is currently undergoing therapy for the problem, though it remains to be seen whether he will be able to recover in time for the match against the Nerazzurri over the weekend.

Tests over the next few days should reveal whether Nandez will be able to make his return in time for the Sardinian side’s trip to the San Siro or whether Rossoblu coach Walter Mazzarri will have to do without the midfielder.
