Legendary former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi feels that it is Napoli who hold the advantage in this season’s Scudetto race.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, the Nerazzurri legend suggested that while the top four sides are all closely matched in the fight for the Serie A title, he feels most confident about the Partenopei.
The Nerazzurri find themselves in what looks to be a closely-fought title race in the top spots in the Serie A table, with only four points separating league leaders AC Milan from fourth place Atalanta.
Between those two sit Napoli and, one point ahead of them, Inter, with the Nerazzurri’s recent form having taken them right back into the mix with the Rossoneri and the Partenoperi who at one point had a seven point buffer at the top.
All four of these teams will feel that they have a real chance of going all the way this season, though in Bergomi’s view it is Napoli who have the best chance.
“It is an open fight between the sides at the top of the table,” he stated. “Milan and Atalanta are in great form and pay attention to Inter. But if I had to bet a euro on it, I would put it on Napoli.”
