Former AC Milan defender Giuseppe Sabadini has predicted that Inter will win the Serie A title again this season due to the depth in the squad, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Whilst speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Giuseppe Sabadini explained that the number of options in Inter’s squad means they must be considered the favourites.
“For me, the favourite is Inter given the squad with so many options.”
As for the competitors, Giuseppe Sabadini singled out the attacking force of Atalanta and the injury crisis that has now hit Napoli.
“Then there is Atalanta who is strong and frightens everyone. Napoli have had many injuries and therefore are having some problems but they play well.”
As for Giuseppe Sabadini’s former team, AC Milan, who currently sit top of the table, he feels that the lack of European competition after Christmas can be a major help for their title challenge.
“Milan without the cup can have their say but they must always play with determination and speed. If there are no injuries and in January some other players arrive to complete the squad, they can compete.”
AC Milan finished bottom of their Champions League group that contained Liverpool, FC Porto, and Atletico Madrid. This means their only commitments going forward are Serie A and Coppa Italia. This is what benefitted Inter last season.
