Former Inter forward Eder has expressed his happiness at seeing fellow former Inter player Antonio Candreva perform well with Sampdoria this season, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Whilst speaking to Il Secolo XIX, a Genoa based newspaper ahead of the Derby della Lanterna this weekend between Genoa and Sampdoria, the former Brazilian player explained his glee at seeing Antonio Candreva play at the age of 34 for Sampdoria.

“First of all, I want to tell my friend Antonio Candreva that I am very happy for him, I remember the years with Inter and by training and playing with him, I knew that he is someone who can still say a lot in the world of football.

“Age does not matter, it is a detail for those who train like him. It is also true for me, we are almost at the same level.”

The two players spent two years together at Inter between 2016 and 2018. Eder joined from Sampdoria where he had spent four successful years and scored 45 goals.

He then scored 12 more during his time at the Nerazzurri. Antonio Candreva joined Inter from Lazio and went on to make 124 appearances for the club during his four years playing for the side.

His fifth year was spent on loan with Sampdoria last season and now he is permanently signed to the team based in Liguria.
