Former Italian football manager Fabio Capello has said that he would like to see Inter face Ajax in the Round of 16 in the Champions League, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport after the finalise Champions League group games of the season, via FCInter1908, Fabio Capello explained that whilst Ajax are very dangerous in attack, they are not very strong defensively.

“For Inter, I would take Ajax, against the Dutch Inter can do well. They are certainly a dangerous team upfront but they concede a lot of goals.”

There is a lot of range in terms of the quality of opponent that Inter can face when the draw is made on Monday next week.

The three teams the Nerazzurri will want to avoid are German champions Bayern Munich, English champions Manchester City, and Liverpool.

Another option is Manchester United who may be a desirable opponent right now but by February when the tie is played, Ralf Rangnick will have been in charge for two months and they may be a different proposition.

Ajax and Lille are the other two teams that Inter can face.
