Inter are not hopeful of a contract agreement with Croatian winger Ivan Perisic given the size of his initial demands, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the Croatian winger is currently asking for wages that are simply too high for Inter to give a player who is now 33-years-old.

He is only likely to remain at the club beyond June 2022 if he accepts a lower wage than he is currently earning, which is thought to be around €5 million per season.

Talks are likely to continue after the January transfer window. The club are laying the groundwork for Ivan Perisic’s departure though by sounding out the possibility of signing Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic.

It almost goes without saying that if Inter strikes an agreement with the Bundesliga side for the Serbian winger, it means that Ivan Perisic will be leaving the club.
