Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti has said that Inter have what it takes to win the Serie A title again this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Whilst speaking to Tutto Cagliari, Massimo Moratti explained that Inter have what they need but teams such as Napoli and AC Milan should not be ruled out so quickly.

“Inter has what it takes to do it, but I would wait for the next few months when Napoli, a very strong team, will once again have some elements that are absent today. And then I would not underestimate Milan at all.”

Inter will play against Cagliari at San Siro on Sunday and are hoping to continue their fine form. The Nerazzurri aim to be top by Christmas as their next three games are against Cagliari, Salernitana and Torino.

Whilst Inter are the clear favourites for the clash on Sunday, Massimo Moratti feels that Simone Inzaghi’s side will not underestimate the Sardinians.

“Traditionally, matches against Cagliari are never easy and above all not taken for granted.

“Inter are doing very well, but I don’t think they will underestimate the opponent, also because the attitude of the team could be risky. The progress of the match will also depend on how Cagliari will set up.”

Lautaro Martinez will be hoping to score against Cagliari so that he can say he found the net in four consecutive Serie A matches for the first time in his career.
