Former Lazio and England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has said that he wants to see Simone Inzaghi do well whilst he is the coach of Inter, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Whilst speaking to Neapolitan newspaper Il Mattino, Sven-Goran Eriksson explained that he spent four years coaching Simone Inzaghi whilst the latter was a player for the Biancocelesti, between 1997 and 2001.

“I hope, however, that Simone Inzaghi does well. We were together for four years at Lazio and I love him. I wish him to reach the most important goals.”

The Swedish coach went on to explain that the level of coaches in Serie A right now is what makes the league so tight and competitive.

There are four teams with a very realistic chance of winning the Serie A title and they are AC Milan, Inter, Napoli, and Atalanta. Despite how tight the league is, Sven-Goran Eriksson feels that Napoli are the favourites to win it.

“This season there are many great coaches. There is Mourinho, then there are also Sarri, Allegri, Spalletti. Many excellent technicians who raise the level.

“The Italian league is becoming more and more competitive thanks to these coaches. Scudetto? Despite the difficult moment, I am convinced that Napoli remains one of the favourite teams.”

Just four points separate first and fourth in Serie A right now meaning it really is anyone’s title to win or lose right now.
