Inter are going to have a tougher task of qualifying for the next round of the Champions League than Juventus after failing to win their group, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been discussed by Corriere della Sera, the fact that Juventus managed to snatch the top spot in their group after a late Zenit St Petersburg equaliser against Chelsea means that their list of potential opponents for the next round is kinder than Inter’s.

The Bianconeri will be hoping to avoid a draw against Paris Saint Germain but will back themselves to beat Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Villareal, RB Salzburg and even Atletico Madrid.

As for Inter, there is the real possibility of facing one of Bayern Munich or Premier League duo Manchester City and Liverpool.

The favoured opponents for Inter will be Lille, and they would accept a tie against Ajax who are weak in defence but strong in attack.
