Inter are still calm over the prospect of Marcelo Brozovic signing a new contract with the club or leaving on a free transfer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Inter are confident that the gap in salary valuation between the two parties is now small enough that a deal will be struck in due course and that the Croatian will not be leaving the club.

Any agreement is likely t come with a salary of €5.5 million for the midfielder which places him in between the two most recent renewals of Lautaro Martinez, €6 million, and Nicolo Barella, €4.5 million.

Another meeting is expected to take place before Christmas between Inter sporting CEO Beppe Marotta and the midfielder’s entourage.

Inter will of course have to get clearance from the Chinese ownership before sanctioning a contract extension of this financial size.
