Inter are set to earn more from the Champions League market pool this season after Atalanta and AC Milan were eliminated from the tournament this week, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calcio e Finanza, who specialise in football finance reporting, Inter were already set to earn €5.7 million from the market pool in the Champions League.

Even of Juventus and Inter do not progress from the Round of 16, they will now still earn an additional €400,000 each thanks to the elimination of the other two Italian sides.

This would only grow further if they manage to progress even further in the competition to the quarter finals.

Atalanta were eliminated and placed into the Europa League as they lost 3-2 at home to Villareal on Thursday night. That meant they came third in that group behind Manchester United and Villareal and ahead of BSC Young Boys from Switzerland.
