Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen may continue training and then playing for Danish side Odense in order to appear at the 2022 World Cup, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the danish midfielder has been training with Odense in order to rebuild his fitness after the cardiac arrest he suffered in the summer at Euro 2020.

It is believed that if he decides to play fully for Odense over the next year, he may be able to reach a level where he can be part of Denmark’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar that will take place in the winter before Christmas.

Due to Italian regulations around heart conditions and defibrillators, it is very unlikely that he has a future with the Nerazzurri.

Playing in Denmark for Odense may enable him to recuperate whilst not in quite so heavy a spotlight as he would be in Serie A.
