Simone Inzaghi is expected to start Stefan de Vrij and Denzel Dumfries against Cagliari on Sunday after injury scares, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Dutch pair will both be part of the defence that is aiming to keep Inter’s excellent Serie A form going.

Stefan de Vrij has spent a month on the sidelines after he picked up an injury whilst on international duty with The Netherlands.

As for Denzel Dumfries, he was substituted at half time in the Champions League match against Real Madrid on Tuesday but it now appears that that was just a precautionary measure and he is fit to play.

Simone Inzaghi will be relieved to have the two players available to him as he will not be able to count on Andrea Ranocchia and Matteo Darmian who are both injured and will not feature.
