Former owner of Inter Massimo Moratti has poked fun at Juventus by suggesting Inter would like to play them in the Champions League Round of 16, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Sportface.it, via FCInternews, whilst speaking at the commemoration of Peppino Prisco on Friday evening, Massimo Moratti suggested that Inter would find it simpler to face Juventus than any other team in the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

“I don’t know which opponent to choose. Maybe Lille or Ajax. It’s a pity that we can’t play against Juventus, because it would have been the simpler game perhaps.”

Teams from the same domestic league are not allowed to face each other in the Round of 16 of the Champions League but from the quarter finals onwards they can.

Inter finished second in their group whereas Juventus managed to win theirs. That means that Inter could face the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, or Manchester City in the next round.

The hardest team that the Bianconeri can face is likely Paris Saint Germain who have Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
