Former owner of Inter Massimo Moratti has praised the current Chinese ownership for staying at the club through the financial difficulties, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Goal.com via FCInternews, Massimo Moratti was speaking at the commemoration event for the late Peppino Prisco, former Vice President of Inter who passed away in 2001.

Massimo Moratti explained that the owners have done all that they can in the current financial conditions and everyone should be pleased that they have not jumped ship.

“So far they have done their utmost in the difficulties they have objectively had. The very fact that they continue to hold on is a positive fact: they have had a difficult situation.”

Suning are regularly being reported to be looking for someone to buy the club off of them, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund being most regularly linked.

Massimo Moratti admits that he does not know if they are looking for someone to buy the club, but he does think that they will try to make a success of the club regardless of the financial situation.

“I do not know if they are looking for someone, but I believe that out of pride and for a thousand reasons they will try, with the financial means available, to keep it for as long as possible.”
