Former Roma midfielder Paulo Roberto Falcao believes that even with Inter’s current period of good form, there will still be a difficult Scudetto race in store.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 68-year-old named Napoli and Atalanta as serious competitors for the Nerazzurri in particular.

Inter look to have taken a big step back into the Scudetto race in recent weeks, going from seven points behind league leaders AC Milan and Napoli to just a point behind the Rossoneri, and one point ahead of the Partenopei in the table.

The Nerazzurri and fourth place Atalanta look to be the form teams in Italian football right now, and it looks very possible that Inter will be able to defend their Scudetto crown from last season.

However, there is still much football to be played over the rest of the campaign and a number of teams at the top who look to have the credentials to go on and win it all.

“Inter have looked very good to me,” Falcao stated, “but Napoli and Atalanta have also impressed me. It will be a real fight for the Scudetto.”
