Inter are considering bringing in a left-sided player to act as a deputy to Ivan Perisic during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri would look for a low-cost loan signing in the vein of Ashley Young and Victor Moses to back up the Croat.

Perisic has become a vital player at Inter, but the 32-year-old’s current contract is set to run out at the end of June 2022.

It remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri will be able to agree on a contract extension past next summer with Perisic, but if not then their first choice to replace him would be Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic.

Even before then, however, the club are considering an additional player in Perisic’s position given that Federico Dimarco is his only real deputy in the squad and has largely been preferred in a defensive position.

The club would only look to sign a player on a short-term loan with no purchase obligation, similar to when Moses was brought in from Chelsea during January of 2020.

The likes of Layvin Kurzawa and Abdou Diallo are reported to be slated for a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain and could be targets for Inter, while Juan Bernat is another PSG player of interest.

Meanwhile, Manchester United left-back Alex Telles is another player who Inter had been considering during the summer transfer window and they could resume their pursuit of him on loan in January to back up Perisic.
