InterSpac President Carlo Cottarelli is well aware that his initiative for fan ownership of the Nerazzurri faces difficulties that make its implementation improbable.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale in an interview published in today’s print edition, he nevertheless emphasized that he feels there is a chance that the project can be made to work.

Cottarelli has been promoting the InterSpac implementation for some time now, with a survey of fans having been done in the past few months to gauge interest and to see how feasible the project is.

The economist is also working along with the rest of those involved in the initiative to try and formulate a concrete proposal to the club which he hopes to deliver soon.

Cottarelli acknowledges, however, that there are greater difficulties which must be overcome than simply the amount of money available before his ambitious plan can be made into a reality.

“We are still working to deliver a proposal for this month as planned, with our business advisor Deloitte, and then we will see, the owners must also be on board,” he explained.

He went on to explain that “It is a very complicated operation obviously, being a very large club.”

“So the probability that we can do it remains low but it still exists,” he added. “Our project does not necessarily depend on how much we can collect, so it is not necessarily linked to entering as minority shareholders.”

“I like football that is based on the heart and enthusiasm,” Cottarelli explained. “There must be a collaboration between small, medium and large players for the club to function.”
