Inter have not yet held any formal talks about extending the contract of defender Stefan de Vrij, but they are not worried about the situation.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are reassured by the Dutchman’s desire to stay on at the club.

De Vrij’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2023, and he is the only key player from the starting eleven of last campaign who the club have not yet formally approached about a renewal yet.

The major priorities for the Nerrazzurri as far as contract extensions go are currently Croatian duo Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic, whose deals are set to run out next summer, and the matter is also not a priority for the player according to the report.

However, the 29-year-old is reportedly happy to stay on at the Giuseppe Meazza and has transmitted this to the club.

The Nerazzurri will look to get the process of renewing with the former Feyenoord and Lazio defender going when they feel that it is necessary to do so.
