There is no tension between Inter and midfielder Nicolo Barella over the fine given to the 24-year-old after his red card against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the player understands that the fine is club procedure after a red card.

Barella was sent off during the second half of the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 loss at the Bernabeu in the Champions League, with an ill-advised hit out at the calf of Real defender Eder Militao following a rough challenge giving referee Felix Brych little choice but to send him off.

Similarly, the Nerazzurri were left with little option but to fine the 24-year-old for the situation, as it is a part of regular disciplinary procedure.

Barella is not upset with the fine and understands that it was only a part of normal procedure, and there is no tension in his relationship with the club caused by it.
