Former Cagliari goalkeeper Armando Pantanelli feels that Simone Inzaghi has done a very good job of imposing his ideas on this Nerazzurri team.

Speaking to Italian news outlet L’Interista, the former keeper gave his thoughts on the Rossoblu’s chances against Inter and also gave his impression of the difference between Inzaghi’s team and that of former coach Antonio Conte.

Inzaghi has already started to transition Inter away from the way they played under Conte, stylistically speaking, making them more of a possession-based team.

The transition has gone more smoothly than many had expected, with the Nerazzurri quickly taking to the way that Inzaghi wants them to play and showing a clear understanding on the pitch.

Inter are one of the form teams in the Italian top flight, and Pantanelli feels that they will be a big challenge for his former side Cagliari, who will come up against a team playing some of the best football in Serie A.

“It will certainly be a very tough match,” he stated. “Inter are one of the best teams in the league. This despite the Nerazzurri’s defeat against Real Madrid which is, let’s say, to be taken with a grain of salt.”

“If Cagliari were to beat Inter tomorrow it would be a truly unexpected result,” he added.

Of the Nerazzurri’s style, he stated that “We went from Conte to Inzaghi and it was like night and day. Inzaghi is doing a great job, after losing very important players. I hope he can reap his rewards in the end.”
