Inter are now not far off from a significant milestone for the calendar year of 2021, as they are only two goals away from finding the back of the net a hundred times in Serie A.

This fact is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note that the Nerazzurri can equal or surpass a record set in 1950 in their last two matches of the calendar year.

Inter have been prolific in Serie A this campaign, scoring a total of forty goals in their first sixteen matches, and had also been free-scoring last term.

The four goal haul against the Rossoblu leaves them just two away from the record of a hundred goals in a calendar year from 1950, and they will hope that they can manage this once again in their matches with Salernitana and Torino.

Meanwhile, striker Lautaro Martinez found the back of the net in his fourth game running, something he had not up to that point done in Serie A, suggesting that the Argentine is capping off his excellent 2021 in fine style.
