Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been named as the Nerazzurri’s best player in their emphatic 4-0 win over Cagliari yesterday.

The 27-year-old received a grade of 8/10 in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport for his display, as did coach Simone Inzaghi.

Calhanoglu looked to be easily kicking on from the form that led to him being named as Serie A player of the month in November once again, looking energetic and incisive on both sides of the ball.

The Turkish midfielder got an assist early on with his corner turned into the net by Lautaro Martinez, and then he scored the Nerazzurri’s second with a brilliant long-range strike.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi came in for particular praise from the Corriere for his tactical acumen in setting up his team to make the win over the Rossoblu look straightforward.

Elsewhere, the likes of Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez were given just one grade lower than Calhanoglu and Inzaghi, with the Corriere deeming their displays to be worthy of 7.5/10 scores.
