Legendary former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi believes that the way that the Nerazzurri are currently playing is virtually without faults.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after their emphatic 4-0 win over Cagliari yesterday evening, Bergomi was full of praise for his former side and also singled out the form of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Inter looked to dominate possession and push to create chances virtually from the opening whistle against the Rossoblu, and they were rewarded in the end with a dominant win to go top of the Serie A table.

The scoreline was a fair reflection of the run of play, with the Rossoblu hardly having a sniff in the final third whilst Inter missed a penalty, hit the frame of the goal, forced several excellent stops by Rossoblu goalkeeper Alessio Cragno, and still fashioned enough chances to be good value for their large lead in the end.

“It’s total football,” Bergomi stated of the Nerazzurri’s style of play. “When you see Bastoni step up from the back, mark, anticipate, many times he is Inter’s most advanced forward, it makes you understand that everyone is involved.”

And of Calhanoglu’ he stated that “What I’ve seen from the derby onwards, in terms of determination, temperament, the goal he scored today is no surprise to me, he  can certainly hit them outside the box.”

He went on that the Turk is like “A second regista of the team.”

Of possible improvements or room to grow for the Nerazzurri he reflected, “I don’t know, we have to wait and see based on the head-to-head clashes.”
