Inter are close to securing the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana on a free transfer next summer and are set to wrap the deal up formally in February.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri only have a few more details to agree with the Cameroonian on a four-year deal worth a net of €3 million per season.

Onana is the Nerazzurri’s chosen long-term replacement for Samir Handanovic, with the Slovenian’s contract expiring at the end of June 2022 and currently 37 years old.

The 25-year-old is out of contract with Ajax next summer and there is no chance of his agreeing an extension with the Dutch champions.

The Nerazzurri have been in talks with Onana and his entourage for some time, and the agreement is all there but for a few remaining details, and the club will announce his signing on a free transfer next summer when they are officially able to do so in February.
