Inter’s January and the first couple weeks of February are set to be their most important period of the season according to Italian media.

This from today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note the number of vital games compressed into the space of just a few weeks.

In Serie A, the Nerazzurri have two winnable games against Salernitana and Torino before the winter break before they make their return against Bologna.

However, after this their schedule looks very imposing, with matches against Lazio, Atalanta, AC Milan, and Napoli coming in the space of little more than a month.

This run of games should be just about make-or-break for the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto charge, and if they can keep their momentum going as they have done in the past few weeks then they could well see off their main rivals by Valentine’s Day.

On the other hand, if Inter struggle during this period then they will give a chance to all their main rivals to gain ground on them, and they will surely be wary of this.

After their clash with Napoli on February 13, things hardly look any easier, as Inter will host Liverpool in the first leg of what looks to be an extremely difficult Champions League round of sixteen tie.

The Reds are likely to be considered favourites even with the Nerazzurri’s quality and form, and getting a result to take to Anfield is a necessity if Inter hope to progress to the next round.

After two final Serie A matches this year Inter will get some time to rest and reflect, but once they come back they will have a massive month and a half to deal with.
