Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga believes that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will want his side to play a confident game against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the 61-year-old emphasized the view that the coach will back his players to impose themselves on the tie against the Premier League side.

Inter got one of the teams they were hoping to avoid in yesterday’s round of sixteen draw, with the Reds one of the form sides in England and the continent.

Jurgen Klopp’s men emerged with six wins out of six from a group containing Porto, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid and they look a formidable matchup for anyone and among the absolute favourites for the competition right now.

The Nerazzurri, however, have also been in excellent form and only looking to be getting better as the season progresses, and Zenga believes that they and their coach will not be intimidated by Liverpool.

“Inzaghi will prepare for the game thinking that his players are better and he will go for it,” he predicted. “If he wins, he will have done something great, and if the Reds win, they will congratulate them.”
