Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has been in the best run of form of his Nerazzurri career in the past few games and only needs to put the finishing touches on his game.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who argue that that the Dutchman is beginning to show on a sustained basis that he fits into this Inter team.

Dumfries was brought in with the difficult task of replacing Achraf Hakimi in the squad after the Moroccan’s sale to Paris Saint-Germain, and he did not settle in right away following his summer move from PSV.

The 25-year-old showed some flashes of his talent but looked to be behind Matteo Darmian in the pecking order on the right, and he had moments where he looked without full confidence and out of sync with his teammates.

In the past few matches the Dutchman has become a regular in the team in place of the injured Darmian, and he has blossomed.

Dumfries put in another great shift in the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 demolition of Cagliari over the weekend, in which he was at the level of his esteemed teammates on both sides of the ball to help the team go top of the Serie A table.

He is starting to look like the player who the Nerazzurri brought in to directly take the place of Hakimi, Tuttosport argue, and only needs to put the last bit of polish on his game going forward.
