The agent of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana will be in Milan some time next week to meet with Inter about the status of his proposed move to the club on a free transfer next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Cameroonian’s move to the Nerazzurri is still all set to happen as has been reported for months despite his recent statements.

Onana is the main candidate to replace Samir Handanovic on a long-term basis at Inter, and the club have reportedly been speaking to the 25-year-old since last summer about securing his signing.

The keeper’s contract with Ajax runs out at the end of June 2022 and he has publicly stated that he will leave the Dutch champion on a free transfer next summer.

Onana has recently spoken in interviews that Inter are not the only club that he is considering joining and that there are multiple offers.

However, according to the Corriere the situation remains that the Nerazzurri are very close to an agreement with the Cameroonian and will wrap up his signing formally when they are able to.

To this end, Onana’s agent will be in Milan sometime next week and will meet with the club, not to move talks forward but to establish that things remain as they have been between the parties.
