Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen could re-join his boyhood club Odense when he leaves the Nerazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dane is likely to depart from Inter early in 2022 and that a return to Odense is his most probable destination.

Eriksen and Inter should soon receive final confirmation that he will not be able to make his playing return for the Nerazzurri due to his health issues, as tests are likely to conclusively show that he cannot remove the heart implant that bars him from playing in Italy.

The Nerazzurri will part ways with the player early next year in all likelihood and then the 29-year-old will make a decision about what his next step is.

The Dane has been doing some physical training at the facilities of Odense already while staying in Denmark, and a playing return to the club that launched his career looks as though it could be on the cards.
