Inter defender Matteo Darmian could be ready to be included in the Nerazzurri’s squad to face Salernitana on Friday.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old is close to ready to return from the thigh injury which has seen him miss the past few matches.

Darmian had to come off as a substitute during the second half of the Nerazzurri’s win away to Venezia, and he was revealed to have picked up a thigh problem.

The 31-year-old has missed the matches since while he recovered, but the wing-back completed half of a full training session with his teammates and is close to make his return.

Darmian could be called up for the squad to face Salernitana if he is ready by then.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is likely set to start on the bench as he is one yellow card away from a suspension, and will return to the starting eleven against Torino.

Alexis Sanchez and Edin Dzeko are likely to start up front together in Salerno, while Federico Dimarco could also start in place of either Ivan Perisic or Alessandro Bastoni.
