Inter went top of the Serie A for the first time this season after hammering Cagliari 4-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan’s San Siro district.

Samir Handanovic – 6: Inter dominated the ball throughout and Samir had to make a few regulation saves. Had a lot of time on the ball to make the right passes to start play.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: Joao Pedro is a handful for most Serie A defenders, but Skriniar was never in trouble as Inter bossed the ball and the game. Made plenty runs forward.

Stefan De Vrij – 6: Nice to see Stefan back after more than a month. Still doesn’t look at his best and this type of game was the perfect one to start a decent run of form.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5: Just like Skriniar on the other side, not much defending to do for Bastoni. Was bombarding the left flank and spent more time in attack than defense.

Denzel Dumfries – 7: When Darmian got injured, Denzel had the spotlight shone on him. Things have started to click for him, and he is making his best attributes count.

Nicolo Barella – 7.5: Crucial game for Nicolo as he looked to get back on track after his worst Inter performance in Madrid. Two fantastic assists against his previous club.

Marcelo Brozovic – 7: Another game, another epic performance. That volley at the end of the first half was the cherry on the cake. Always in space, always contributing.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 8: Hakan has carried forward the energy from the Milan derby and made it count. Fantastic goal and delightful assist. Should take over penalties as well.

Ivan Perisic – 6.5: Continued his great purple patch and was unlucky on a couple of occasions with the final ball. The mental side of his game has never been better.

Lautaro Martinez – 7.5: Lautaro could and should have had a hat trick. Two well taken goals either side of a penalty miss. Clear that there’s more to come from Il Toro.

Alexis Sanchez – 7: Took time to get started. Once he got involved in the buildup play, he looked like a different player altogether. Scored a peach of a goal. Well deserved.

Federico Dimarco – 6: Brought on when the game was over and used the minutes to test out his short passing game. Didn’t give the ball away and made the right runs.

Martin Satriano – 6: Very highly rated and it shows. Nowhere near complete but gave it a decent go in his 20 mins or so. Ran the right channels and looked involved.

Arturo Vidal – 6: Arturo hasn’t looked the same as he was at the start of the season. Took over from Barella who moved into Brozovic’s role. Saw the game out well.

Stefano Sensi – 6: Few more minutes for Sensi to get into the groove.Replacing Hakan isn’t easy but Stefan slowly building up fitness and staying fit is already great news.

Mattia Zanotti – N/A: Debut for the 18-year-old who seems to have impressed Alexis Sanchez with his passing. Nice to see youth coming through. Not enough time to rate him.

Simone Inzaghi – 7.5 : Absolutely aced another game plan. Cagliari couldn’t get out from their own half. Penalties must be sorted out sooner rather than later.

Matteo Marchetti – 6.5: Used VAR very well and didn’t give out bookings until entirely necessary. No other major decisions to make and controlled an uneventful game.

Inter – 7: Another fantastic display against a considerably weaker team. Dominated the ball, created chances for fun. Just need to be more clinical with chances.
