Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is expected to meet with the club today in Milan to discuss his departure after it became clear he can no longer play in Italy, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Danish midfielder cannot continue to play for Inter whilst he has a subcutaneous defibrillator fitted to help regulate his heartbeat.

Therefore it is clear to all that he must become a free agent so that he can discuss a move to other teams in countries where he can hopefully reignite his football career.

Christian Eriksen and his agent returned to Milan yesterday ahead of the meeting which all parties hope will be the only one necessary to agree on exit terms.

The player is likely to rejoin one of his former clubs such as Odense in Denmark or Ajax in The Netherlands, or even head back to the Premier League.
