Former AC Milan striker Jose Alfatini has suggested that the Scudetto fight will be between Inter and Atalanta this season, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport, Jose Alfatini explained that he thinks the real fight to the end of the season will only have two teams involved and Inter is one of them.

The former Juventus man said: “I think Inter and Atalanta will compete for the title.”

Inter now sit top of the table after an excellent run of form that has coincided with a rough path for both Napoli and AC Milan who were previously the front runners.

Atalanta are in a similar position having found their feet after a rough start to the season. They are just three points behind Inter now.

Jose Alfatini did add that he hopes that Napoli and AC Milan do not get more injuries when they face each other on Sunday and can remain in the fight for the title.

“We hope, however, that Milan and Napoli will not get hurt after Sunday. And stay in the running for the Scudetto.”
