Former Inter winger Francesco Moriero has expressed his happiness that the Nerazzurri have reached the top spot in Serie A, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with TMW, the now head coach of the Maldives National Team explained that he is still keeping up to date with the results and highlights from Serie A and feels that Juventus can still get into the Champions League places.

“I watch some highlights and I update on the results. Inter have moved up to first place, I’m happy. Juve? I am convinced that they will grow, they have a good team. They can reach the top four.”

Inter reached the top of the table after a fine run of results that coincided with a downturn in form from AC Milan and Napoli who were previously the front runners in the division.

When asked what it is like to work in a place that many would perceive as paradise, Francisco Moriero admitted it is better to work somewhere like the Maldives than in a terrible place.

“Better to do this job in a nice place than in a terrible one. They expect a lot from me, it’s nice to work in this context. We represent a people, I work and I hope to bring results. People imagine me in the resorts, I am in Male, in the capital. Not in the Maldives you usually see.”

He made 56 appearances for the Nerazzurri and scored six goals.
