The father of young Inter defender Zinho Vanheusden has suggested that the player could return to either Inter or Belgium after his loan spell with Genoa has ended, according to a report in the Belgian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Voetbalnieuws, Johan Vanheusden explained that the situation for his son is still not clear right now but returning to Inter to fight for game time is a serious possibility, as is returning to Belgium.

“Perhaps he will return to Inter, perhaps we could talk about a return to Belgium if he does not play the next matches.”

Johan Vanheusden also said that he and his son must be calm about his future right now as the loan spell at Genoa is a year of learning for him and he has faced some very good attacking sides like Napoli and Inter.

“For now we have to rest assured. Because this is a season for him of learning and adapting to Serie A. He has already had the opportunity to play some big matches against Inter and Napoli.

“It’s about adapting to Serie A which is a different level than the Belgian championship.”

Zinho Vanheusden began the season at Genoa as a starter but then began spending more time on the bench. A muscle injury then kept him out for a month, but he has started twice in three games under Andriy Shevchenko.
