Inter could send Matias Vecino to Genoa as part of a player exchange for striker Felipe Caicedo in January.

This according to yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to allow the 30-year-old to leave in order to convince the Girffone on a deal for Caicedo.

Vecino has not featured regularly for Inter this season, and the Uruguayan’s contract is set to expire at the end of June 2022.

He could leave even before that, however, and with the Griffone interested the Nerazzurri could look to work out a player swap for Caicedo who remains a target.

The Ecuadorian striker enjoyed a good working relationship with Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi while the pair were at Lazio together and had been a target for the club during the summer.

The Nerazzurri moved for other attacking targets instead, but they are still considering reinforcing their attack further with a deputy for Edin Dzeko, and they could move for Caicedo during the January transfer window.
