Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has said that Inter’s main opposition for the Scudetto this season is currently Atalanta although they do have a weakness, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, Mario Sconcerti explained that the winner of AC Milan vs Napoli this weekend will not necessarily decide who Inter’s main opponent is for the Scudetto. It could actually be Atalanta.

That being said, Mario Sconcerti believes that La Dea has no real depth in the striker area behind Colombian forward Duvan Zapata.

“If AC Milan were to win, Napoli would go far and end a very difficult period. It would be a serious blow to Napoli’s ambitions. I think Inter’s opponent is Atalanta now, but they have some problems. There is only Zapata, he can arrange the team differently but he has no real substitutes.”

Inter are sitting top of the table after a great run of form that has coincided with a drop off in form for AC Milan and Napoli. Atalanta are also playing well and have moved up to third place ahead of Napoli.

Mario Sconcerti also discussed AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho and admitted that he often does not agree with him.

“I don’t know much about Mourinho, he seems to me a great club coach, with great means. When he won in Italy there was no Juventus then.

“I don’t love Mourinho because he talks a lot and I have a different opinion than his, but that does not mean that he is not right. Mourinho has done great things, he is intuitive. He has always been a cover for the players, but today he accuses them.”
