La Liga side Sevilla has claimed to have no knowledge of any potential swap deal that would see Luuk de Jong head to Inter and Alexis Sanchez head to Barcelona, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews today, Luuk de Jong is currently on loan from Sevilla at Barcelona but the Blaugrana are keen to use the Dutch striker as a makeweight in a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez on loan from Inter in January.

This would be a complicated operation given it is Sevilla who actually owns the player in question and they have now claimed to have no knowledge of such a plan.

This throws earlier reports from Spain that a deal is imminent into disrepute. It has also been reported elsewhere that Barcelona are much more focused on signing Manchester City’s Ferran Torres and Alexis Sanchez is just another option.
