Inter striker Edin Dzeko is set to start against Salernitana and will be aiming to continue his excellent form since joining the club, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bosnian striker has surprised everyone by seeming to find a new level whilst at Inter that he had not previously shown at AS Roma.

Edin Dzeko arrived at Inter as the primary replacement for Romelu Lukaku, along with Joaquin Correa. The ex-AS Roma man had only scored seven goals in 27 games before the move so many felt he was way past his best given he is 35-years-old.

He has responded by racking up 11 goals already so far this season, eight in Serie A and three in the Champions League.

He was given a rest for the entire match in the 4-0 win over Cagliari last weekend so he is expected to start away at Salernitana on Friday night.
